How to Remove The Fraud Alert

To remove a fraud alert from TransUnion, you can:

  1. Log in to your TransUnion account
  1. Go to the Credit Report tab
  2. Click Dispute or a similar link
  3. Click Add, Modify, or Remove a Potential Fraud Alert
  4. Click Continue
  5. Click Remove
  6. Click Submit
  7. Confirm that the fraud alert was removed

To remove an Experian fraud alert, you can:

  1. Go to the Experian Fraud Alert Center
  1. Click Remove a fraud alert
  2. Fill out the form to verify your identity
  3. Upload the completed form to Experian’s upload page
  4. Mail the form to: Experian, P.O. Box 9554, Allen, TX 75013

You can also remove an Experian fraud alert by mail:

  1. Print out and complete the form
  1. Photocopy a government-issued identification card and a utility bill, bank statement, or insurance statement
  2. Mail all of these documents to: Experian, P.O. Box 9554, Allen, TX 75013

 

To stop a fraud alert on Equifax, you can call Equifax at (888) 836-6351 to remove it over the phone, or you can send a written request by mail to Equifax Information Services LLC, P.O. Box 105069, Atlanta, GA 30348-5069; be prepared to provide identification documents to verify your identity when removing a fraud alert.
